COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M baseball alumnus Cliff Pennington is rejoining the Aggie staff as an assistant coach, Pennington confirmed with KBTX.

Pennington spent the last four seasons as an assistant and recruiting coordinator at Dallas Baptist University (DBU) under head coach Dan Heefner. The Patriots gave Pennington his first full-time coaching job after serving as a graduate assistant at A&M for two seasons.

DBU ranked 42nd in the nation in batting average this season at a .301 clip, while blasting 100 home runs (17th) and scoring 8.4 runs per game (28th). His standout season coaching the Patriot offense was 2024 when DBU ranked 12th in the nation in home runs (115), 13th in slugging percentage (.542), 14th in doubles (134), and 24th in hits (625).
