MONROE COUNTY, Ohio – A traffic stop in Malaga Township on June 3, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a 55-year-old man from Somerton.

Gary M. Henthorn faces several charges following the incident.

During the traffic stop, Henthorn was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug abuse instruments, and obstructing official business.

According to Monroe County Sheriff Derek Norman, this arrest represents another success for the county's Criminal Interdiction Unit, which he established after taking office to target drug trafficking and criminal activity on local roadways.

The unit was formed at no additional cost to taxpayers and has already achieved several significant arrests.
