FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Fall River Police Department said a 17-year-old student was charged Wednesday after a bullet was allegedly found in their possession while entering Resiliency Preparatory Academy.

The 17-year-old student was charged with possession of ammunition without an FID.

Fall River police said the student was entering RPA Wednesday morning when the bullet was discovered in their bag.

Out of “an abundance of caution,” a shelter in place was issued for the school while police conducted a search.

Additional School Resource Officers, detectives, and a K9 were called to help conduct a thorough search of the student and the exterior of the school.

Fall River police said “no further items of concern were found.”
