KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder Tuesday night after investigators said he fired at least a dozen rounds into a mobile home in Lawrence, Kansas.

The Lawrence Police Department said that at about 9 p.m., officers were called to the area of 33rd Street and Iowa by several concerned neighbors asking for help.

When officers arrived, they learned that a man had attempted to kill a resident inside one of the mobile homes by firing at least 12 shots into the property from the outside.

Police said the man inside the home was not hit and found evidence connecting the shooting to a suspect.

After identifying the suspected shooter, who had returned home to his wife, an officer called and negotiated with him on the phone.
