SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- Spokane Valley firefighters have determined the cause of the fire that forced Hangry's to close Wednesday morning.
Firefighters responded to the restaurant around 8 a.m. for the fire and quickly knocked it down. Three people inside were able to escape uninjured.
The estimated damage of the fire is about $75,000
SVFD says a grease fire started in the kitchen which spread around the stove top and the hood suppression system. Grease buildup in the hood stopped it from working to put out the fire.
SVFD wants to remind people commercial kitchen hoods should be serviced annually and checked regularly for grease buildup.
Hangry's closed Wednesday and did not say when they would reopen.
