AFTON, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - A community-driven non-profit held an open-house last week to showcase their services available to those grieving a loss.

A local organization, Healing After Loss or HALos, opened its doors last week to those seeking to learn more about its mission.

The establishment, located at 146 Main Street in Afton, provides unique and essential programs to those who are grieving.

Some programs, like Art for Wellness, foster programs that assist all members of the family, grief recovery work, and trauma and loss help.

The establishment features many amenities such as a therapy dog, a comfort room, a gathering room, and a community room.

Founder and Executive Director Joyce Humphrey says the scope of their mission has broadened since it started.
