WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Fire Department said 10 people are displaced after a house fire in Warwick on Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to a possible structure fire on Pawtuxet Avenue around 2 p.m. to find a house “heavily involved in fire.”

Crews started to attack the fire, which officials said was extending to the interior of the home.

After about 45 minutes, the fire was knocked down.

Nobody was inside the house at the time of the fire.

Warwick Assistant Chief Allan Gouveia said the heat made it more difficult to fight the fire, and the age of the house made the flames spread faster.

One firefighters was treated on scene for heat related issues, and nobody was injured or hospitalized.

The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
