LAURIE — The Gravois Fire Protection District has responded to significant damage in its coverage area following storms that swept through mid-Missouri Tuesday night.

The fire district reports that the storms damaged 23 homes, three commercial properties, four vehicles, two sheds, five docks and four other structures overnight in Camden and Morgan counties.

More than 600 customers were without power in Morgan County Wednesday around 3 p.m.

Crews worked through the night until 4 a.m. to clear roads, secure power to affected homes and report downed trees and lines, according to the Facebook post. Morgan County Emergency Management said first responders were going door to door along Highway O Tuesday night.

"We noticed there were quite a few trees down; we sent crews to adjoining roads.
