CONNECTICUT, USA — Two Connecticut school districts, in addition to Cromwell, are under federal investigation over their policies on transgender athletes, a spokesperson for the state Department of Education confirmed to FOX61.
Federal officials have begun investigations into whether the Bloomfield and Canton school districts violated Title IX , a federal law that "prohibits discrimination based on sex in education programs and activities that receive federal financial assistance."
It is currently unclear what prompted those schools to be investigated.
The U.S. Department of Education confirmed Tuesday that Cromwell's school system was under investigation for possible Title IX violations.
