GAZA STRIP (TNND) — The BBC on Wednesday rejected the White House’s claims it failed to verify statistics from a health ministry Hamas runs and that the broadcaster removed an article from its website on the war in Gaza.

Publishing an article on its statement, the BBC said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was wrong when she accused the broadcaster of taking the terrorist organization’s word for statistics on deaths in Gaza. Leavitt also claimed the BBC retracted a story on an alleged Israeli attack, which the broadcaster denied.

The BBC published an article this past week on an incident in Gaza in which multiple entities reported deaths. A current story on the broadcaster’s website is titled, “Red Cross says at least 21 killed and dozens shot in Gaza aid incident.” Previous headlines
