(TNND) — America is losing office space, and commercial real estate experts said that's going to help rebalance the market following the upheaval from the pandemic and the rise of remote work.

Jessica Morin, the director of U.S. office research for CBRE, said it's "too early to say the 'recovery' word" in describing the current status of the office market.

But the office market has stabilized.

And it’s squarely on the road to a recovery, she said.

“We're not calling for vacancy to return to its pre-pandemic rate in our near-term forecast, which is the next couple of years,” Morin said.

That might take until the end of the decade or longer.
