TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A former Tampa General Hospital employee made his first appearance in front of a Hillsborough County Judge on Monday in a case involving child pornography.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said its internet predator unit launched an investigation after finding suspicious activity on a social media platform, although investigators did not say which social media platform was used.

The sheriff's office said, with a warrant, deputies recovered 79 images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.

Investigators also said they found images of Farber that he had taken while at work at Tampa General Hospital showing inappropriate photos of himself taken in operating rooms and patient areas, although the photos do not show other people.
