BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — THE AMERICAN GUILD OF ORGANISTS-BROOKLYN CHAPTER hosts its closing concert of the season at St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Church Pro-Cathedral on Thursday evening, June 5, on the church’s landmark Skinner Organ.
Gregory D’Agostsino, the Pro-Cathedral’s director of music, is the soloist, with the Doctors’ Orchestra of New York, in an all-French program. Featured works are Francis Poulenc’s Organ Concerto and Saint-Saëns “Organ” Symphony.
Poulenc (1899-1963) was a pianist and composer of orchestra, opera, choral and other vocal music. His sacred works drew largely on the Roman Catholic liturgical tradition.
