MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - The Minot Public School district is letting go of most of its mobile, or portable, classrooms.

They’ll be offering seven units for auction starting Monday, June 9.

With the district expansion, facilities director Jared Edwards said there’s no need for these spaces any longer.

Portables were first introduced before the 2011 flood in Minot, and were used up until last year.

Each unit is 72 feet long and 24 feet wide, which can be used in different ways, like for office spaces.

Edwards said they’re keeping one unit at Jim Hill.

“We’re going to be using it for a support area for our athletic teams. To the north of that school, we have a football, soccer field, and it’s a green space for physical education. So, we’ll be storing items in there, we’ll use it for dressin
