WACO, Texas (KWTX) - A Waco woman who claims she was subjected to a hostile work environment, discrimination, ageist remarks and sexual harassment before being fired after filing a complaint has filed a lawsuit against a local funeral home.

J’Nette Allred, 70, is seeking more than $1 million in damages in her lawsuit against Park Lawn Memorial Group LLC., parent company of Waco Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6623 S. Interstate 35.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in 414th State District Court on Allred’s behalf by Waco attorney Joel S. Shields, charges that Allred was fired July 19, 2024, in retaliation four days after informing her supervisor that she had filed a discrimination complaint with the Civil Rights Division of the Texas Workforce Commission.
