CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control is under an emergency situation as the shelter awaits 40 more animals to arrive while at max capacity.
The shelter put out an urgent message on social media saying they are expecting 40 dogs that have been seized from a court case, but the shelter is already over capacity and they do not have enough kennels.
In addition to the space shortage, the ACC is dealing with an internet outage, construction that caused the shelter to lose water access as well as a literal truckload of puppies waiting to be surrendered.
Without help, the shelter will be forced to euthanize dogs to create space.
The shelter is seeking individuals who are able to foster, offer temporary staycations, or adopt dogs.
