OXFORD (WKRC) - Defending state champion Mason came into Wednesday's regional semifinal against Oak Hills poised to advance to another regional final, and after a big first inning, the Comets were in good position.

JJ Darst got things going for Mason early, with an RBI single to center to give the Comets an early 2-0 lead. Later in the inning, Liam Sander would hit a deep ball all the way to the wall in left to bring in another run and put Mason up 4-0 after one.

The Comets wouldn't need many runs to get the win on Wednesday, thanks to starting pitcher Andrew Visconti, who threw a no hitter against Oak Hills with nine strikeouts.

Mason is back in action on Thursday night in Oxford playing for the regional final.
