FORT BRANCH, Ind. (WFIE) - The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says a person was flown to the hospital after being hit by a suspended driver.

Officials say they got a call around 2:30 p.m. of an accident near the intersection of Locust and Walters Street involving a truck and a scooter.

They say the investigation determined the truck had hit the person riding the scooter in the roadway.

A helicopter was called to transport the person to the hospital.

The truck driver was identified as 30-year-old Jon Roeder who was driving while suspended on a prior conviction.

Authorities say Roeder was medically cleared before being transported to the Gibson County Detention Center.

He is being charged with driving while suspended.

There has not been an update on the well-being of the person injure
