LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A push to assist Little Rock's public housing initiative failed at the board of directors meeting held on Tuesday.

The effort to help the Madison Heights property comes as the Little Rock Housing Authority continues to deal with ongoing financial issues.

"It was brought to our attention, and I'm talking about the City of Little Rock, that the metropolitan housing authority was in danger of properties being foreclosed on," explained Virgil Miller, the Director of Ward 1 for the City of Little Rock.

Miller explained how Madison Heights was used as collateral for a loan that was not paid off.

On Tuesday, the board voted on a three-part proposal that would set aside money to help.
