Former Preston Trail Community Church pastor arrested on child porn charges

DENTON, Texas — A former North Texas church pastor was recently arrested on charges of possession of child pornography, jail records show.

Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco confirmed Jim Mustain worked at the church from 2019-2023 as a community pastor. Mustain also volunteered with Lewisville ISD, the district confirmed.

Lewisville police say Mustain was arrested in Ashe County, North Carolina, on April 25, and then extradited to Texas and booked into the Denton County Jail on May 14. He's charged with four counts of possession or promotion of lewd visual material depicting a child, and one count of possession of child pornography.
