LESLIE, Mich. (WILX) - A scar burnt into the grass is what is left after two teens were electrocuted Tuesday night.

A fourteen-year-old boy was electrocuted after hitting a wire with a metal pole. When his fifteen-year-old friend tried to help him, he too, was electrocuted. After both were rushed to a hospital, one is dead, the other is recovering.

Now, the community of Leslie comes together to mourn the loss of a neighbor and warn others about the dangers of power lines.

Rachelle Locke says she was walking home from the library with her kids when she saw and heard emergency vehicles drive by.

“It is very sad all around. I feel really bad for their families...I’m sorry doesn’t cut it, because it is so tragic,” she said.
