FARGO — The Fargo Park District is preparing to open four public pools on Monday, June 9, just ahead of summer and amid significant price hikes and operational changes.

Construction crews are finishing work on the new Island Park Pool, which is expected to open in about two weeks.

All public pools in Fargo will operate under new hours this season. Weekday hours will run from 12 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., while weekend hours will be 12 to 4 p.m. — except at Island Park, where they will extend to 6 p.m.

Also new this year, pool admission will be charged per day rather than per session, allowing afternoon visitors to return for an evening swim.
