Last Friday, the Orcutt Academy softball team played to its top seed and beat No. 2 Dos Palos 3-0 at Fresno State's Margie Wright Diamond for the CIF Central Section Division 5 championship, the first sectional divisional title in program history.

Tuesday, the Spartans notched another first. No. 2 Orcutt routed No. 7 Cathedral City 17-0 at Lakeview Junior High School in the first round in Division 5 of the CIF SoCal Championships, making their first appearance in a SoCal Championship tournament a success.
