Jimmy Buffett's widow has filed a suit against the man appointed co-trustee of the late singer's $275 million (£203 million) trust.
Jane Buffett alleges that accountant Richard Mozenter has dragged his feet in providing crucial financial information to the star's family, and that he and the lawyer he selected to represent the trustees have been "openly hostile" toward her.
Jane, who was married to singer and businessman Buffett for 46 years, asked the court to remove Mozenter as co-trustee of Buffett's estate on Tuesday, alleging that she and her lawyer have repeatedly asked him to "act responsibly and perform his duties", and he has not.
"Mr Mozenter has failed to perform even the most basic tasks required of him in his role as co-trustee, including providing Mrs Buffett with information concerning Trust assets and finances, which has left Mrs Buffett in the dark with regard to the state of her own finances," the filing claims.
"Along the way, Mr Mozenter has belittled, disrespected and condescended to Mrs Buffett in response to her reasonable requests for information she undoubtedly was entitled to receive."
Buffett built his substantial fortune through a combination of musical success and entrepreneurial ventures.
His music catalogue included the iconic Margaritaville, which he expanded into a vast business brand, encompassing restaurants, resorts, merchandise and retirement communities.
He died in September 2023 from Merkel cell carcinoma. He was 76.
