WAKE COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) -- Fort Bragg released new information Wednesday on the military explosive that was found in a Wake County backyard .
The military ordnance was found Tuesday in a backyard on Forestville Road. Officials from Fort Bragg said it turned out to be a 30mm training round.
They said the 722nd Ordnance Company received an emergency call from Raleigh Police about a possible unexploded ordnance.
When the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team arrived, it found the training round in a chicken coop.
On Tuesday, Wake New Hope Fire Chief Ronny Mizell described the training round as more than a foot long and said it appeared to have been in the family's yard for a while.
After investigation, the item was deemed safe to transport, and it was taken to Fort Bragg, where
