SALT LAKE CITY – Once a versatile infielder/outfielder with the BYU Cougars, Andrew Pintar’s career is taking off after applying a full-time focus in centerfield.

A trade from a deep Arizona Diamondbacks organization to the Miami Marlins in 2024 might be the best thing that has happened to Pintar since being drafted in 2022.

“They make suggestions, but they traded because they just like what I do, how I play the game, and they just said, kind of, continue being me and go and play every day like I have been,” Pintar told MLB’s Jim Callis after learning about the trade. “And that’s what I’ve been doing, just trying to learn new things from different guys and coaches that I meet. It’s been a good transition.”
