Jerry C. Jeffrey, who served as mayor of Moberly from 2017 to 2023, has died, according to a social media post from the city Wednesday.

Jeffrey, who was 63, served on the Moberly City Council starting in 2015 and served for nine years.

“Jerry was a fixture on the City Council for many years; his steadfast dedication to Moberly was both inspirational and rare,” Moberly City Manager Michael Bugalski said in the Facebook post . “What was most admirable about him was that, despite his passionate commitment to the council, he never lost sight of the bigger picture and who he was there to serve. He always had Moberly’s best interests at heart."
