A 19-year-old man was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison on Wednesday for trying to shoot and kill a teenager in the parking lot of Clackamas Town Center late last year, the Clackamas County District Attorney’s Office said.

Pedro Anthony Cornejo-Morales was one of two men accused of trying to kill the 15-year-old boy on Dec. 20, 2024.

Cornejo-Morales pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted murder and unlawful use of a weapon charges on Wednesday.

Prosecutors said he walked up to a car with another man and fired a gun five times at the boy, hitting him in his left hand.

The boy was treated at a nearby hospital.
