KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A minimum-custody resident at the Johnson County, Kansas Department of Corrections who escaped last week has been apprehended today, June 4.
The Kansas Dept. of Corrections says that Anthony Mansfield, 36, was located, arrested and taken into custody in Kansas City, Missouri. Mansfield was serving eight months of work release incarceration after being convicted of criminal damage to property.
Additionally, records show that Mansfield was placed on escape status around 10 p.m. on May 28 after not showing up for work or returning to the Johnson County Department of Corrections Adult Residential Center on May. The department also reported that he was considered dangerous.
