AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Region 16 hosted a Special Education Teacher Camp to assist teachers in getting the latest tools available to help their students in the classroom.

Region 16 officials said this is the largest gathering of special education teachers all year. Teachers had the chance to participate in activities, experience new technology for the classroom, and review new behavior plans.

"So they're able to take the information they learned today, mull on it, think on it, and really interpret what they want to pull on what they learn today and practice and move it into their classroom to work with their students," said Beth Presley, instructional support, member of tiered services team.
