DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - For the first time in history, the Great Lakes will serve as the diving point for professional divers.
USA Diving announced the Superior High Dive Challenge in partnership with Festival of Sail Duluth. The competition will take place July 10–13.
Minnesota will welcome internationally ranked divers for the high diving competition. The athletes will be diving from a 66-foot-tall tower into Lake Superior.
The custom diving platform will be constructed on Duluth’s New Sea Wall by Dana Kunze’s Water Show Productions. Kunze is a Minnesota native and holds the world record for the highest dive.
This four-day event will open on Thursday, July 10, with an exhibition showcase, followed by two days of official competition on Friday and Saturday, July 11–12, wit
