COVINGTON, Tenn. (WMC) - The Covington police chief spoke on the dangers of domestic violence following the arrest of a Memphis man accused of stalking and threatening a Covington resident Tuesday.
“Domestic violence calls are some of the most dangerous and volatile incidents law enforcement encounters. Our goal is to protect those who are victims of domestic violence,” said Chief Donna Turner.
The department charged Reginald Ballard, 32, after he allegedly showed up armed at a home on Loon Lane late Tuesday morning.
CPD reports that Ballard, a Memphian, came to the home waving a gun and demanding that the victim leave. He fled before police arrived.
Officers then issued a broadcast to other agencies with Ballard’s description.
