Glant Havenar, who has served in nearly every key leadership role in Palmer Lake’s local government over the past 12 years, announced her resignation as mayor, effective Thursday.
In a public letter released Wednesday, Havenar reflected on her years of service and expressed deep appreciation for the community, Town Board of Trustees, and staff.
“It is with a full heart and deep reflection that I tender my resignation,” she wrote. “Serving this town for the past 12 years — in many capacities — has been one of the greatest honors of my life.”
Havenar began her civic career as a volunteer on the town’s Parks Committee before being elected as a trustee. She went on to serve as mayor pro tem, chair the Comprehensive Planning Committee, and sit on both the Budget Advisory Committee and the Ec
