PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Detectives are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a juvenile male and sent several others to the hospital near the intersection of 112th Street East and Portland Avenue East, down the road from Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma.

Pierce County Sheriff's deputies reported that a high-speed crash on Tuesday, June 3, resulted in the death of one teenager and injuries to three others. The names will not be released until all parents are notified, according to deputies.

Surveillance footage captured a car speeding westbound on 112th Street East. Deputy Carly Cappetto of the Pierce County Sheriff's Office said, "When that vehicle got to Portland Avenue, it ran a red light, crashed into a civilian vehicle, which then caused it to roll several times."
