MITCHELLVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) -- A Prince George’s County middle school received five new 65-inch smart televisions Wednesday from a local non-profit to improve the learning process for students.
Charnita Whitmyer, the principal at Ernest Everett Just Middle School in Mitchellville, says the donations will go a long way in helping her students succeed in the classroom.
“The donation sends a very powerful message that our community leaders are fully invested in our schools and our [productivity] in our students’ growth at this school, so we are forever grateful,” Whitmyer said.
School leaders say most of the Samsung TVs will be used in classrooms to help both hearing and non-hearing students during instruction. Some of the televisions will be installed in the hallways to be used as in
