The City of Bakersfield is set to donate a fire engine to its sister city, Santiago de Querétaro, Mexico, in a ceremony that underscores nearly two decades of collaboration and friendship. The event will be held on the morning of June 6, 2025, at the Bakersfield Fire Department Headquarters.

The donation symbolizes the enduring partnership between the two cities, which officially became sister cities in July 2005. This relationship has facilitated cross-border collaboration, training exchanges, and mutual support, enhancing emergency response capabilities in both communities.
