PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The Providence Police Department said a man has died after suffering a gunshot wound Wednesday night .

Police responded to Chad Brown street Wednesday night to find a 29-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to injuries, according to Providence police.

Officials said “it may be a self-inflicted, accidental injury, but we are not ruling anything else out.”

The shooting is under investigation.
