OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Sophia Scott has many talents.
“Before track meets I’ve always brought a coloring book with me,” she said. “The love of art, I’ve had it since I was little. Bringing colored pencils and a coloring book is something that I’ve always done.”
She becomes the canvas for her artistic creations — providing an outlet outside of her athletic prowess.
“The art is just kind of something I like to do that sets me apart,” Scott said.
Scott has taken a more unconventional path to Division I athletics than others, navigating her primary sport not being sanctioned by the NSAA.
“It’s a really humble sport and it’s really a great thing to be a part of,” she said.
“It does make it really difficult,” Scott said. “I don’t have teammates. It’s made me quit shot put and discus as well
