RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Saint Augustine's University has been ordered to pay one of the companies that is suing the school for breach of contract.
According to court documents, on May 16 a Wake County judge certified an entry of default stating that the beleaguered school must pay SBA Connect, LLC $20,234,785.30 plus interest along with $11,551.23 in attorney's fees and any possible fees related to the court action.
SBA Connect, which is based in Boca Raton, Fla., and Raleigh IT company Avaria both filed lawsuits against SAU in March. Each company claimed the school did not pay them for their services, but SBA Connect did not specify how much was owed to them. In lieu of fulfilling invoices, both gave SAU the option of paying an early termination fee, which was over $16.8 million for each
