The Dodgers were outclassed by Mets pitching on Wednesday night, as they dropped the penultimate match of this four game set by a final score of 6-0.

The Mets were greeted with a hit by pitch from Tony Gonsolin to Francisco Lindor, followed by a fielding error from Kiké Hernández to put runners at the corners with nobody out. Juan Soto drove in the game’s first run on a ground out before Pete Alonso teed off on the first pitch he saw the other way for a two-run home run to push the Mets’ lead to three.

Gonsolin recovered to put down the next two hitters to complete a 22 pitch first inning and was able to face the minimum in the second inning. He ran into trouble in the top of the third inning after allowing a single and a walk to Nimmo and Soto before getting a pop out of Alonso and
