North Georgia is a hotbed for soccer, so it's only fitting that the area is home to a semi-professional club.

North Georgia United, based in Dalton, competes in the UPSL Women's Georgia Conference.

The team's roster includes girls from Atlanta, Tennessee and right within the Dalton community.

North Georgia United already has one match under their belt. While the club is still looking for their first win, they are hoping that this week of practice has helped prepare them.

Head Coach Yanis James explained, "Nothing beats high-level soccer, especially at the UPSL level in Georgia. Nothing beats it. It's a great thing to be a part of."
