TAMPA — The touted Kumar Rocker has returned to the Texas Rangers rotation.

Next question: Will he stay?

After missing five weeks with a shoulder impingement, Rocker returned Wednesday and looked just like he did when he left.

In this case, that’s not necessarily a good thing.

When last we saw Rocker, he was throwing really only two pitches and didn’t make it through two innings.

On Wednesday, in a 5-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, the Rangers allowed him to start the fourth, but only because the third had been so rough that it made sense to simply let him stretch out his pitch count and potentially save some extra wear and tear on a bullpen that has worked more than 40 innings in the last two weeks.
