WARREN — A Warren man was sentenced to five years of probation and ordered to pay $140,000 in restitution for stealing from a local condominium association, prosecutors said.
Randy Rule, 63, of Montgomery Avenue NW, pleaded guilty in April to a felony charge of attempted grand theft. On Tuesday, a judge ordered him to repay the Surrey Point II Homeowners Association $250 per month.
Prosecutors said Rule, who served as president of the homeowners association from January 2015 to December 2022, falsified numerous invoices to make it appear that various bills had been paid. He submitted the fraudulent documents to the condo’s management company, which reimbursed him approximately $140,000, according to court records.
The theft was uncovered after an investigation into the association’s fin
