HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Museum of Art will screen three films for free to commemorate the Honouliuli National Historic Site’s 10-year anniversary.

The museum’s Doris Duke Theatre will screen the following films, in partnership with Pacific Historic Parks , about the impacts of local Japanese Americans in Hawaii during World War II:

“Untold Story: Internment of Japanese American in Hawaii,” June 22 at 2 p.m.

“Voices Behind Barbed Wire,” Aug. 17 at 2 p.m.

“Removed by Force: The Eviction of Hawaii’s Japanese Americans During World War II,” Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.

Directed by Ryan Kawamoto, the films take different views on Japanese American families living in Hawaii.

Honouliuli was Hawaii’s largest and longest-running WWII POW and incarceration camp.
