Every year in high school athletics , teams ascend from their local conference rivalries and take on statewide competition in hopes of climbing playoff brackets in pursuit of a coveted state title.

Now, we take a look at statewide competitions with our list of the 10 best postseason games from the fall, winter and spring.

In total, five Wilmington-area squads won regional titles in the 2024-25 sports year, with Ashley girls soccer and Hoggard girls golf doing so in repeat fashion.
