A minor earthquake occurred roughly 5 miles southwest of Idyllwild at around 12:27 p.m., Wednesday, July 4, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The agency initially classified the earthquake as being magnitude 3.6 before downgrading it to 3.2
The quake could be felt in Palm Springs, where it briefly shook buildings.
There were no immediate reports of damage online.
