Newark city officials have not received any information from DHS as to why it is included on a list of "sanctuary jurisdictions," which has disappeared.

Inclusion on the list could further endanger federal funding into development and mental health crisis response.

Other districts included on the list include the state as a whole, New Castle County and Camden.

The Trump administration thinks Delaware is a sanctuary state.

Specifically, it thinks Newark, Camden and New Castle County are places that are sanctuaries to undocumented immigrants.

A recently released, and then revoked, list from the Department of Homeland Security collected places that qualified as sanctuaries to undocumented immigrants. The DHS then listed the locations and threatened cuts to any federal grants or funding.
