CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Whether a person has fought and survived cancer or is confronting a recent diagnosis, Mercy Cedar Rapids is inviting everyone who has battled cancer to an event to celebrate.

People can visit the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center in Cedar Rapids to meet with doctors and nurses along with other fighters and survivors.

”Survivors love seeing other survivors and they talk about their journeys and and how hard it is to fight it and the things that they went through,” Christina Djerf, the event coordinator, said.

Regardless of where they got treated, anybody who has faced a cancer diagnosis is invited to celebrate. It’s also an opportunity for doctors and nurses to reflect on their own journeys helping Iowans as they fight their toughest battle.
