FRANKLIN, Mass. (WLNE) — Tonight at 6, mourners in Franklin, Mass. will gather to honor the lives of a mother and daughter killed in a crash on May 24 in the town.

The vigil will be held on Grove Street, the site of the crash, where an ongoing memorial has grown over the past week.

According to police, James Blanchard, 21, was driving drunk, with his blood alcohol content more than twice above the legal limit, when he hit the Patel family’s car.

Five-year-old Krisha Patel was pronounced dead the day after. On Tuesday, her mother Minaben Patel, 38, succumbed to her injuries as well.

Krisha’s brother was seriously injured in the crash, while her father was taken to the hospital but wasn’t badly injured.
