Thousands of gallons of oil spilled into the water in the Harbor East area Wednesday afternoon from diesel tanks supplying fuel to the Johns Hopkins Hospital care facilities, according to a Thursday morning news release from the U.S. Coast Guard as well as a joint statement from Maryland Gov. Wes Moore and Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott.
The two leaders are providing a media update Thursday morning from Harbor Mews Waterfront Park on the status of the ongoing response to the diesel fuel spill in Harbor East.
